Beginners are welcome!  Light LightningTalks

Abstract

It is sometime heard that the presentation at JANOG could be challenging since it takes place at the big venue in front of 4-500 participates with a lot of discussion. Also it could be difficult to get permission from the company because it is being broadcasted by streaming.

So how about presenting in a smaller venue without broadcasting? Please send 5 min slides. CFP details will be notified at janog@janog.gr.jp. Scoring will be made according to the following method. Since we plan to take up to about 5 people, it will be completed as soon as it is filled up (at the end of the 1st stage, if there are more than 5 applicants, the 2nd and 3rd stages will not be carried out).

Title: What's learnt by monitoring YAMAHA router with AWS

Presenter: Koichiro Iwao (How International Co., Ltd.)

Score: First stage 10 points

Abstract:

YAMAHA is a standard router for small business edge router.

It requires a bit of ingenuity to do full managed monitoring using Amazon Route 53.

After the twists and turns, I was able to realize the monitoring, but there were side-effects that were nice for small and medium enterprises.

In this LT, I introduce a method to monitor the network cheaply, easily and continuously, which is good for small and medium-sized enterprises,

I will also introduce what I got from it along with actual data.
