Cyber security BOF#2


Abstract:

Inheriting the cloud hosting ABUSE BOF that was held continuously at the JANOG 36 and 37, we renamed it to the cyber security BOF at the JANOG 38 and about cyber security for use the Internet securely, we were able to make meaningful discussions such as challenges of service provider's stance, request to users as service providers, etc.

At JANOG 39, continuing from last time, as an organization that is working on cyber security improvement in Japan, we would like to ask sharing "efforts" and "troubles" from cloud, hosting and ISP business companies etc. we want to make a place for exchange information with participants and presenters.

This time, I would like to discuss the trends of cyber attacks mainly on the following two points.

- As a service provider, what can we do to make the service for safe to use? (Preventive measures etc.)

- What kind of attitude and preparation should be done as a service provider in case of emergency such as user account takeovers by a malicious third party, web tampering, unauthorized use, etc.

Presentation style and Procedure

Speakers post on 5 to 10 minutes presentation. Then discuss with the participants based on the contents.

The presenter, title(temporary) and contents(temporary) are scheduled as follows.

- What operator and users can do to improve security, what should not forget

- The troubles and tasks corresponding to ABUSE from a legal standpoint for our service

- About how to fight cyber attacks in our services (including prevention and information gathering)

- Mr. Ryoma Teraoka Kobe Digital Labo Inc.

- Attack cases from the standpoint of web security consultation, What users and operator can do
