Introduction to Ultra Wide Bandwidth Networking for Live TV Program Production

Abstract

Since the SMPTE ST 2110 standard that for a live production system based on IP was established in 2017, The transition is progressing video transmission interfaces have changed from SDI cables to Ethernet/IP system.

While IP live systems in some broadcasting stations has been deployed in Europe and the United States, now interoperability tests for Vide over IP devices or IP remote production are started in broadcasters in Japan.

I'm going to share some information, including the technical of how the live production system, which has been used up to now with its own dedicated standards and technologies, is going to change using the IP technology.
