概要
How do you secure redundancy when you connect L3 devices such as servers or storages to network devices in your network infrastructure of datacenter?
There are many way to do it; using protocols such as HSRP and VRRP, using chassis redundancy technologies like Virtual Chassis, making server speak BGP, and introducing EVPN Anycast Gateway but you may have experienced a lot of pain with these solutions or could not introduce them due to technical restrictions. It is one of the most difficult point in network design.
In this program, I summarize such technologies and solutions for this “First-Hop Redundancy” problem, then I like to discuss what kind of technology should we pursue in the future, based on lessons learnt in my cloud service.
