概要

In this talk, we show the results of an experiment measuring the latency to the whole Internet with SR-MPLS Egress Peer Engineering (EPE) at Interop Tokyo ShowNet 2021. EPE enables steering packets destined for arbitrary IP addresses toward arbitrary egress ASs identified by BGP Peering Segments. For adopting EPE for backbone networks, our question is, how beneficial is using EPE? This talk answers this question from the viewpoint of Internet latency. As of 2021/4/16 11:20, when I’m writing this abstract, the measurement is ongoing at ShowNet on Makuhari Messe. We have already found some interesting results, and further analysis will appear in the talk.
