概要
LINE’s services are becoming more and more diverse every year. The infrastructure requirements will also become more complex. Cloud networks are not only isolated, but also need to provide sophisticated network services such as VPN/LB/NAT/FW in conjunction with multi-tenant networks. With this background, we are developing a next generation version of SRv6 cloud network introduced in JANOG44, which is more advanced and functional. The plan is to add functionality like Virtual-Private-Cloud(VPC) feature by hyper-giant’s Public-Cloud service to our Private-Cloud. We judged that OpenStack’s basic networking solutions, such as VPNaaS and L3-Router, are not enough to achieve the requirement. Therefore, we invented “yet another SDN controller” that not only evolves our custom Neutron SRv6 plugin, but also loosely cooperates with Neutron Networking, and built the necessary NFV services based on it. This SDN controller is completely different compared to Neutron Extension, which is a reconciled model SDN controller that leverages the recent CloudNative technology and behaves as a declarative Control Plane. In this session, we will reveal the architectural design patterns of high functionality NFV for Private Cloud, and introduce our new cloud networking design. In particular, we will discuss how we have incorporated our SDN/NFV experience into our new SDN controller.
