概要
Traditionally, international mobile communications, such as roaming, have been operated using proprietary IP transport networks (IPX) that are separate from the Internet (IX). In the 5G era of a wide spectrum, high speed, and mass capacity, mobile communication infrastructure is also required to drive further enhancement and globalization.
However, there are many challenges in the existing IPX model, such as economic efficiency and faster network construction. In this talk, we will discuss the expectations for the international IP transport networks (IPX/IX) in the 5G era in terms of (1) cost, (2) quality, (3) implementation lead time, and (4) security. Through this discussion, we would like to contribute to the future development and strategic planning of the mobile network industry by building bridges between mobile network operators from the perspective of IP transport networks for international mobile communications.
