  • Toshiyuki Hosaka[JPNIC]
  • Kiyoteru Ishihara[KDDI CORPORATION]

Outline:

  • Discussions of IPv6 addresses distribution policy is reheated in these days world wide.
  • from the distributer side point of view
    • initial size of distribution address is oversized, is it going to be all right?
    • /48 is oversized. Shall we resize it smaller?
  • from ISP's point of view
    • We desires addresses, but the rule is too hard. Give us them easy.
    • Multihoming with multiple addresses, Need ingress filtering?
  • from user's point of view
    • Desires IPv4 like multihoming, Give PI to us.
  • from standization point of view
    • 64+64 is wrong in the first place. Need change.
    • ULA will soon become available. Is ISP not related?
  • The issue here is that this kind of discussion is active in Europe and the United States, and yet nearly none of it in Asia.
We are discussing from both ISP's point of view and user's point of view and then get it form the foundation for expressing opinions to IPv6 community.

Discussion Point:

  • Is PI nessesary for IPv6 multi homing?
  • Is there anyone is not be able to get addresses dispite he/she desires addresses in Japan? (meaning that the requirements easing is not needed?)
  • Is it going to be a problem for you If it comes to the situation which get changed 64+64?(Is this a matter of vendors?)

  • Kouichiro Fujimoto
  • Kazumasa Morita

Outline:

The important thing in developing new information communication machines is not only new technologies and also framework and cash. The factor for low-level implimentation of boxies are not a technical reason but costs to fulfill. For example, 40G optical Interface costs high then uses 10G with innovations. If the costs measures up to, We can develop 100G interfaces. Furthermore, No longer the apology "Thebehavior is along to the specifications." developing VLSI with heavy lifting by many engineers to release good boxies. It does not come to realization with the costs problem, the actual situation is striking a bargain making out with the cash in hand. Today, the engineers who take part in that kind of developing get together and discussing with users to bridges tha gap between the ideal and the real. And also, We discusses with understanding differences of development systems and the market situation related to venture companies between Japan and the U.S. The cash talk is not evil.:br; The balance sence of money is said that is a part of technique.

Discussion Point:

What should be considered to make boxies and how to build good relations with users.

The reverse referense of DNS is slow in many cases. This matter is viewed as lame delegation (which is wrong configurations of name servers) is the causes.
But as I examined into this, the main cause is identified as both BIND(till the version BIND8) behavior and essence of the configurations of reverse referenses. At this presentation, I am going to explain the mechanisms of making DNS referense slow and suggest the solusion for name server configulations. Then I will mension about the solusion's demelits.
