Crossing West Kyushu! Tried large-capacity, long-distance transmission!

日本語版はこちら

Abstract

Cross West Kyushu faster than the West Kyushu Shinkansen!
We performed long-distance redundant transmission using real lines with different models and different paths, combining transmission using WhiteBox and transmission using 100G media converters.

Over a transmission line with a total distance of about 200 km, the WhiteBox side used 1R relays using optical amplifiers, and the 100G media converter side used 3R relays using QSFP28-ZR4 for multistage transmission.

1R broadcast? What is 3R relay?
This time, We would like to share with you the characteristics and precautions of large-capacity and long-distance transmission using actual lines, and discuss the “eXchange” to 100G long-distance transmission.
