NTP Reflection Attacks and Trends in NTP Traffic

Abstract

DDos using NTP is a hot topic on the JANOG mailing list as well. When cpaying attention to the latest trends of UDP port 123 with network visualization tools, rapid increase in packets is observed from around the start of business days in January. This presentation seeks to share this situation and appeals for the need in taking measures for such attacks.
