Utilization ideas for the new 400ZR/ZR+ modules by BB Backbone.

Abstract

Recently there has been great interest in the 400ZR / ZR+ module for its function to allocate its transponder function from the optic transmission equipment to pluggable optic transceiver.
This pluggable optic module can be installed in router and switches enabling the routers and switches to send optic signals directly using the IPoDWDM technology.
IPoDWDM will be able to realize low cost and simple network (reduction of transponder equipment and cost, reduction of power usage).

Our exclusive news is that BB Backbone has conducted 400ZR / 400ZR+ reachability testing on the commercial, ready to use BB Backbone Spectrum network.
This testing has been conducted between Tokyo Metro to Chiba Inzai data centers, as well as Tokyo Metro to West Tokyo area data centers.
In the presentation, BB Backbone will share the test results as well as share some challenges and resolution methods for this new technology.
