Abstract

Since 2020, AFRINIC has seen a number of lawsuits which brought it some malfunction of operation, stemming from alleged contract and policy violations by a member and the disposal for it. during the March 2023 election of the APNIC Executive Council, concerns of election fraud were raised, Although the incumbent and other candidates with proper competence were eventually elected, there were a certain degree of concern for the potential capture, which was raised in JANOG community as well. Have you ever imagined that the very foundation on which you normally operate your network and use IP addresses could be threatened in this way?

In this session, we would like to share with JANOGers what we should be worried about and what we should be relieved about by clarifying the real picture and the current situation of this kind of problem from those who have been involved in the Internet infrastructure coordination body and dealing with such problems closely.
