Breaking away from a simple regional-based IX: what is the appeal of IX in the west of Japan?

Abustract

The commercial IX service in Fukuoka/Kyushu has been launched as scheduled for BBIX Fukuoka and JPNAP Fukuoka, and preparations for JPIX Fukuoka are steadily underway (planned to be launched in January).

Fukuoka IX is not only a “regional-based IX”, but as an IX in the west of Japan, we are expecting it to have several unique features not found in other IXs.

Therefore, we would like to share the unique features and challenges of Fukuoka IX with IX operators who have deployed in Fukuoka, and discuss updates from last year and future plans.
