Abustract
Conventional TE technologies control traffic only in an AS or at inter-ASBR links, there are no effective means to achieve E2E TE through ASes.
If TE through multiple ASes becomes feasible, the following new use cases can be created.
– NW partitioning and coordination by role/function, region, and operating entity in a closed network.
– Improvement of QoS through ASes such as CSP/CDN/Transit/Eyeball on the Internet.
We design a “Multi-AS SR Architecture” that can control traffic in such multi-ASes, and we are verifying and operating it.
In this architecture, each AS implements and provides SR-TE menus to each other keeping independence of AS.
Packet sender can choose first-hop’s TE menu, it will be applied through all ASes and control E2E traffic.
In this session, we report the network implementation of this architecture and the E2E TE results.
We also hope to discuss further use cases and better network architectures.
