Abstract
Network operators always want to check and verify how our production network works before changing its configurations. When we try that, it is difficult to prepare the same amount of resources as production, and also difficult to reproduce the same function in another environment. If we can automatically reconstruct a network environment which has the same amount and the same function as production from configuration files of it, we can improve accuracy of configuration and efficiency of verification.
The authors share trials of reconstructing a Layer 3 and OSPF network as containers by using OSS tools and handmade scripts. Our key concept of reconstruction is topology models which define not only Layer 1?3, but also OSPF and other protocols. We think we become able to verify, simulate, automate and so on by using those topology models.
In this session, we share know-hows and issues we found through our trials, and we want to discuss operation procedures of using this, expectations of feature works, difficulty of introduction, and etc.
