Abstract

MPO connector was adopted in 100G/400G optical transceivers as interface, and it is becoming common connector.
The structure of “multi-fiber” optical connector is completely different from the conventional “single-fiber” connectors like LC connector. So it is easy to understand the maintenance manner, precautions when handling and troubleshooting methods specific to MPO connector by learning about the connector structure.
We would like to share and discuss how to guess the cause of the problem and countermeasures based on measured data with actual cases of the network trouble that have occurred when using MPO connector,
We believe that not only users who have never used MPO connectors before but also users who are already using them, will come away with new insights and contribute to the maintenance of high-quality optical fiber networks.
