As digitalization progresses, the structure of the Internet is changing dramatically.
In the last JANOG48, we discussed Network as a Service (NaaS), and recently, we have been seeing more and more “middle-milers”, which are considered to be a form of NaaS. Megaport, Packet Fabric, Equinix, Aviatrix, Alkira, Teridion, to take a few examples.
Middle-mile is a term used in contrast to Last-mile, which is an access network, and provides solutionssuch as Multi Cloud Networking and SDCI (Software Defined Cloud Interconnect) for enterprises to deploy multi-cloud strategies, solutions for enterprises to deploy multi-cloud strategies.
In this session, we will take a bird’s eye view of the services and technology elements of these middle-millers, and look at the future of architecture.
(Regarding the “Investigative Report of Existing Middle-milers” in this session, it is just for knowing the services of Middle-milers, not for service comparison. We would appreciate if you could keep this in mind when you watch this session. )
