The capacity of the silicon chip depends on the SerDes speed and the number of SerDes it can support. To support 400Gbps, PAM4 has been adopted instead of the conventional NRZ method, and SerDes speed has been increased to 50Gbps.
The generalized silicon chip is now being used in server farms, and the use of PCIe 4.0 will lead to 50Gbps/100Gbps/200Gbps NICs in the future.
In addition, a variety of phone factors will be available, including SFP-DD/DSFP/QSFP56/QSFP-DD. I would like to discuss what network operators need to consider in such changes.
